A beautiful little village with a large personality. Situated near the north eastern edge of Dartmoor and about 10 miles from Exeter and 13 miles from Okehampton. Its location in the heart of Devon makes it ideal for touring the County. The village has two public houses, the Old Thatch and the Mulberry (previously the Good Knight Inn), although the latter has been closed since September 2012. The village is served by a shop, doctor's surgery and primary school. There is a café and guest house on the outskirts of the village called Woodleigh Coach House, towards the A30 near Woodleigh junction.

Brook Farmhouse Bed and Breakfast Brook Farmhouse

I paid a visit to Penny at Brook Farmhouse and absolutely loved it!  Ancient thatched farmhouse full of charm. Homemade biscuits to have with your tea. Easy access into Exeter. I thought that it had only one bedroom on offer, but actually there are 3 bedrooms which Penny will only let to one party, so it is most frequently used just as a double. Apart from the huge main bedroom there is a spacious double and a child's bedroom, again with a double bed on offer. They share a bathroom, but it's a great space at the top of your own private, steep, charming staircase plus your own roomy guest lounge.
