The Old School Cottage
2 bedroom cottage, sleeps 4 – 6 people.
The cottage consists of the following accommodation: Ground floor – open lounge and dining area with shaker style kitchen, wooden floors throughout, double shower room with toilet & basin. First floor - large double bedroom (king size bed) and 1 twin bedroom. The lounge also has a sofa bed (5' double).
The cottage is accessed through its own private ‘Girls & Infants’ entrance and retains its charm with arched windows and cosy modern interior.

Lower Blackaton is the perfect place for family and other gatherings, an ideal base for walkers, and a relaxing setting for those who just want to enjoy the peace and quiet of Dartmoor. It was once part of a settlement with several other buildings, of which two barns have survived. One of these, originally an older longhouse, can be rented with the house as a workshop or small conference venue, or for special meals and celebrations. Great Bidlake Manor is an outstanding, Grade II* listed manor house on the edge of the Dartmoor National Park, a mile from Bridestowe, recently renovated to a luxurious standard in partnership with English Heritage. It has been the ancestral home of the Bidlake family since 1268 and was rebuilt around 1594 in the Elizabethan style. The estate was once vast, but Henry Bidlake, a Royalist, sold parts of the estate during the English Civil War to pay fines to Cromwell. Charles I reputedly stayed at Great Bidlake in 1644.
