On the hillside in Higher Brimley, a pretty hamlet 1½ miles from Bovey Tracey, a ‘chocolate box’, semi-detached, thatched cottage. Enclosed, rose-filled, terraced cottage garden with far-reaching views across the Teign Valley, steps leading to lovely private seating areas (table/chairs) and a little thatched summer house. At the rear of the cottage, a narrow drive leads to a parking space for one small car with steps leading down through the garden to the house.
Inside, many original features have been carefully preserved, such as beams and leaded windows. Stable doors to little porch for coats/boots (washing machine, tumble drier). Spacious fitted kitchen/dining room (dishwasher, microwave, fridge, electric cooker) with farmhouse kitchen table/chairs and views to the garden. Cosy beamed living room with woodburner, comfy sofas, TV/DVD and big bay window (window seat) with garden views. Two steps down to loo (washbasin). Two more steps down to bathroom (suite, shower over bath). Double doors to the garden. A further step down to cosy snug (woodburner). Upstairs, two comfortable double bedrooms (one with 5’ bed). Storage space available for your bicycles. No children under 4, except pre-crawling babies. A charming cottage, full of character.
This was a fabulous cottage in a beautiful location. Our first impression was wow, and we maintained that opinion for the whole week. It truly is a luxurious, warm, friendly and pretty cottage. The beds were so comfortable, the linen and towels were gorgeous, and everything from sofas to kitchen equipment was provided. Everything we needed and wanted plus more. On arrival we were delighted to find a welcome card, a bottle of prosecco, chocolates and fresh flowers. There was milk in the fridge, and instructions for everything we needed. We visited some brilliant local places, ate at lovely local cafes, and enjoyed the beautiful countryside and coastline. We would recommend this cottage to everyone, and please do use any of our comments for your website.
