White Hart Inn Bridestowe

Known to have been an inn during the 17th Century, it was originally a Devon Long house, parts of which are medieval. Important persons hung their banners or standards outside the inns where they took temporary lodgings - the White Hart sign, with a collar of gold, became a favourite badge of King Richard II.

The White Hart, Bridestowe is run by Michael and Sarah and they look forward to welcoming you to the village pub.

We are passionate about the food that we serve. We are proud that all our meat, fish and diary products are locally sourced and all our meals are prepared and cooked on site.
We have fresh fish on the menu with new produce coming into the kitchen every Friday.
We try to cater to everyone so when booking your table, please let us know of any allergies.

We have a host of local ales and ciders to wet your whistle. Our most recent addition to the bar is Otter's Brewery's Tarka,  Hailed as the first pure craft lager brewed in Devon. It's pure due to the brewery using only spring water, malted barley and hops to produce the lager.

Pop in for a pint of Tarka and spot our Moor Otter. 100 otters have been designed by artists from the South West and the UK. For years the otter was close to disappearing from Dartmoor but has recently had a strong resurgence. Here at The White Hart, Bridestowe we have Paploo Ewot based on the heroic Star Wars character, Paploo Ewok. Make sure you stop by and see him throughout the summer months.

Lager not your choice of drink? We also serve a host of spirits, soft drinks and wine.
