Centrally located 17th-century town pub with easy access to Dartmoor and only yards from the bus stops. Up to five real ales are in constant rotation from St Austell, with seasonal brews well represented. There are two drinking areas around a central bar, with an adjoining dining area and separate restaurant, both of which permit children. To the rear an enclosed wisteria-covered smokers’ retreat leads to an excellent garden next to the car park Additionally there are 14 letting rooms. The Cromwell Arms was St Austell Brewery’s Beer Pub of the Year 2013/14.

The town of Bovey Tracey, also known as the Gateway to the Moor, offers easy access to endless Dartmoor countryside and the Cromwell Arms, being in the heart of the town, is a fantastic place from which to explore the whole region, from the moors, tors and villages, to the beaches of Devon and the rest of the South West.With Exeter, Plymouth and Newton Abbot easily accessible from us, together with being only 10 miles away from the sea, our location is an ideal stop over for a business trip, a weekend break or for longer staying guests who are holidaying in Devon.
The Cromwell Arms offers 14 tastefully, newly decorated and comfortable en-suite bedrooms. One of which is a family room that can sleep up to 6 people comfortably. Our newest room, our ground floor bedroom, is ideal for people where stairs are a challenge.
Wi-fi is available throughout the main building and we have a car park at the rear.
For people on business, we are ideally located and in close proximity to the A38 Expressway, Heathfield and Cavalier Industrial Estates.
Take advantage of our lawned beer garden with pagoda and decking on those warm sunny days or on those chilly winter nights, we have two log burner fires to keep you warm and cosy.
We are dog friendly in the main bar areas and one bedroom. Please telephone in advance if you would like to bring your dog/s with you. We even have some chickens to say hello to too!

We are very proud of our menu and can cater for most diets, using local and regional and food suppliers, who provide us with quality ingredients that our talented chefs use to create fresh, seasonal dishes.

You can dine outdoors in the warmer months and look out over the views of Dartmoor and in the cooler weather, choose something comforting and slowly cooked from our ever changing specials blackboard.

We are very proud of our cask ales and have a good reputation for keeping our beers to how they should be. We are regularly inspected by Cask Marque and even CAMRA pay us a visit now and then. Our beer is very popular with seasonal ales, more traditional ones and sometimes, we even have an “exclusive” from our brewery. These all go down a treat with our regulars.
We have an extensive range of wines of the world to choose from and this changes on a regular basis to suit our customers and local needs.
We also have a selection of regional ciders, bottled beers, 100% pure fruit juices made a few miles away in Exeter – there is something for everyone here.
We are in CAMRA’s Beer Guide and were St Austell Brewery’s Beer Pub of the Year 2013/2014.
