The Cromwell Arms is an award winning traditional seventeenth century country inn run by tenants Gary and Julie Roberts.  Situated just a 5 minute drive off the A38, it is ideally located on the edge of Dartmoor and in close proximity to the Heathfield and Cavalier Industrial Estates close by.

The 14 bedroom accommodation has been recently tastefully decorated and includes double rooms, king size bedrooms, and some with views overlooking Dartmoor. The Family room can sleep up to 6 people consisting of 1 double and 2 bunk beds and could also be used for a group of people (contractors, walkers, hikers/ramblers and cyclists (they even have a safe place to keep your bikes)). This room is very popular with it being the largest room too.

Cot bed facility is available, should one be needed.

They have a triple room that has three single beds or can be used for a couple with a child. The single room for one person is now available, with an upstairs en suite bathroom and all the facilities of the other rooms and being very suitable for someone who is working away for a long period of time and/or on a budget.

Their new Ground Floor Twin Bedroom  is proving to be very popular with guests and is ideal for when stairs are a challenge.

All their bedrooms have private bathrooms.

Our facilities include WIFI in the MAIN building, a flat screen television with digital channels, telephone, hair dryer, complimentary refreshment tray and a heated towel rail in your bathroom.  With the inn being an old coaching house, the wardrobes/closets have been built into the rooms and adds a quirkiness to the character of the building.

An early breakfast is served from 7am Monday to Friday for our early risers or business customers who are visiting the Heathfield area, local businesses and beyond.

Our weekend and Bank Holiday breakfast times are from 8.30am - 9.30am.

Prices are priced per room, inclusive of VAT and we offer a good quality English breakfast in the price with juices and cereals and fruits included. A Continental breakfast or vegetarian breakfast are available options too.

Dogs are permitted in some rooms; please telephone beforehand so they can accommodate them in a room nearer the garden.

Please note that at busy times of the year,  a minimum 2 night stay applies over weekends.

Please also note that the King rooms and  Triple room are on the second floor of the main building.  With the dwelling being seventeenth century these stairs maybe steep to some people yet are the biggest rooms. This is where the Ground Floor King/Twin would be more appropriate.  However, these rooms are the biggest rooms and have lovely views of the town and beyond.  Rooms 9 & 10 also have a bath.

All rooms and throughout the building have a strictly no-smoking policy.
