Wisteria Cottage perfect for two - plus !!

It took me a minute or two to find Wisteria Cottage at Scorriton not far from Buckfastleigh, which is a bit surprising
really because I don't think there's more than 2 dozen houses in the place. This is a village with a great pub and
family dairy farm at it's hub. The farm supplies the pub with double cream, the pub has a good reputation for
food, local ale and weekly steak nights, fish and chips nights, live music and quiz nights. See my review of the pub

One thing that occured to me straight away is that the next time anyone rings me to ask if I know of a good cottage
mid way on the 2 Moors Way, so that the guests can be centrally placed on the walk in order to cover a new section
each day, and drive back to base each night, then this holiday let is the perfect solution. 2 cars mean that one car
can be driven to the target point each day by 2 drivers, before the 2nd car takes both drivers back to base. Good idea

Upstairs at the let is one large living room with a well fitted kitchen with dishwasher, at one end, a dining
table in the middle with a comfortable seating area at the other end for relaxing and viewing the t.v.

You can see two floral settees in this photo with the dining table at the back of the one on the left, but Maggie
tells me that there is a much nicer proper bed settee on order, so I will call in to see that when it's in place.
Jan 2014 Maggie has emailed to say ......"We now have a double futon which is an improvement.
It is a bit near the floor but my son says it is comfortable!" .... Thank you for letting me know Maggie
I'm not above asking for a lie down on beds, to ensure that all is genuinely comfortable and owners like Maggie
are only too happy to let me. She and her husband David are newly retired and have only lived in the cottage for
4 weeks when I pay my visit, but I can see at once that it's properly kitted out and that they have put customer
requirements at the top of their list. It's as clean as a new pin, and despite being grey outside, it's warm and bright.

NEW - 2015 Maggie has sent through a picture of the futon!

You have your own front door at ground level, where this large bedroom with a super King size bed looks just
the ticket. Next door to this room is a large fully tiled wetroom (see above) where weary walkers can wash
away the dust of the day. Young families can make use of a cot , supplied on request, and a single folding
bed/chair as well as the bed settee aloft. So all in all 1 big double bed, 1 bed settee, 1 fold out single and cot,
which brings the cost of £295 low season to £495 per week well within budget. Linen and towels are included.

Should you need to use the washer, a door off your bedroom takes you to a brilliant utility room where you
can hang wet jackets and sort out your muddy boots to dry overnight. There's even an iron should you need it.

What more can I tell you ? The pictures show you all you need to know. Oh yes ... there's a home made
cake - with clotted cream on the tea tray when you arrive. Car parking is snug but off the road, guests
are welcome to sit and enjoy the peaceful garden, and ... it has central heating included, and above all
I really liked it ! Book with confidence.... by email or phone 01364 631658.  This Dartmoor hideaway is great. Jill
