The Cobbles at Spreyton - countryside comfort
The Cobbles at Spreyton is as tidy and welcoming inside as it is outside. What a shame it was a rainy
day. No matter, here at the door to say hello is a friendly chocolate labrador by the name of Button.
He's one of two dogs at the home of Dennis and Jan Edwards in Spreyton, a village just outside Dartmoor,
but well worth considering if you want to be centrally placed in Devon. A brief drive from Whiddon Down
just off the A30 dual carriageway into Cornwall. Stay the night and you'll ask to stay longer
Guests have a lovely large sitting room which looks out over the pretty garden. Comfy seating at one end,
and the breakfast table at the other. Newly built, this quality house has large spacious rooms, with a light airy feel.
All of the bedrooms are beautiful, with this one, the master suite being the most stunning of all.
Look what's behind my back as I take this photo .....
Step out of the bedroom onto your own private balcony with far reaching view over farmland
towards Winkleigh. You can just about make out the horses in the paddock beyond (above
the 5 bar gate) Honeymooners would just love it. I would just love it!
And look at the stunning bathroom that comes with this room ! Shower, bidet, bath, views + underfloor heating.
All of the bathrooms are super. This one is the private bathroom right next door to the family room.
The family room has a double and a single bed. It can be taken as a twin room too.
Your private bathroom is just behind the bedheads, and the rooms are down their own corridor.
This is the double en-suite room, again with a stunning shower room. Quiet and peaceful.
The Cobbles is far from any busy traffic. You will hear the birds and see the night sky.
And the local thatched, good food pub is within 200 yards. Here's Silvy the slightly older of the two dogs.
Jan and Dennis are new to bed and breakfast, but they are enjoying meeting people and sharing their
wonderful home. If you're looking for a smart place in real farming countryside within easy reach
of all parts of the county, that you'll want to visit time and time again, then this is my suggestion.
