Located in 'War Horse' country, on the edge of Dartmoor National Park, just minutes away from Plymouth city centre, Tavistock and close to the border with Cornwall, Moorland Garden is the place to be for dining, leisure, business and special occasions.

Nestling in nine acres of stunning and tranquil moorland garden, their four suites are luxurious and tastefully decorated, the en-suite bedrooms are comfortable and well equipped and the hotel and event teams are friendly and helpful.

The Wildflower Restaurant  which was recently awarded an AA Rosette for Culinary Excellence has views across the garden onto Dartmoor, making it a popular place for lunch, dinner and Sunday lunch. Our tremendously popular and award-winning scones and our  Devon Cream Teas are served in the Lounge or in the picturesque garden.

The Dartmoor Bar has a relaxed atmosphere, where your four legged friend is welcome, open daily for morning coffee, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner, serving real ale, fine wines and soft drinks. The bar is open to non-residents.

Leaving the untamed splendour of Dartmoor, the City of Plymouth is just a short drive away, with its magnificent natural harbour overlooked by the famous Plymouth Hoe, where it is said Sir Francis Drake once played bowls and the Pilgrim Fathers set sail for America in the Mayflower almost 400 years ago.

The hotel has luxurious suites and en-suite bedrooms, each with colour television, radio, direct-dial phone and hairdryer. Some rooms have coffee machines and balconies and most have views over the expansive lawn, moorland garden and our Wildflower Meadow. For families, a DVD player and a selection of DVDs is available upon request.

The AA Rosette Wildflower Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, afternoon teas, dinner and Sunday lunches to guests and non-residents, with a stunning view across the garden onto Dartmoor. It is a popular venue also for festive dining,w ith an extensive food offer throughout December.

The Dartmoor Bar is open all day everyday serving drinks, light snacks, lunch, creams teas and dinner to residents and non-residents.

Hotel guests can also relax in the reading lounge, a comfortable and quiet place to unwind after a day exploring Dartmoor or working in Plymouth.

The Crystal Room, a chandelier-lit ballroom with a sprung wooden dance floor, stage area and room for up to 160 (seated) guests. Perfect for weddings, special occasions, celebrations, small gatherings and catered events.

The Mayflower Bar with its vaulted-ceiling and separate entrance is available to hire as part of a Wedding, event or celebration of any kind
