Fir Tree and Birch Tree Lodge are two wonderful luxury safari tents, set side by side on elevated platforms in a little dell. The fenced decks offer lovely views across the glorious Devon countryside towards the coast at Teignmouth and Dawlish. Remarkably spacious, both tents are fully wheelchair accessible and gated from the rest of the site. Inside, both Fir Tree and Birch Tree have two bedrooms (a double and a bunk-room) and a double den bed for children or young-at-heart adults, situated in the main living area. The wood-fired range sits in the centre of the living area – plenty of logs supplied – so everyone will be toasty whatever the weather.

Fir & Birch Tree Lodge

Surrounded by trees and with gorgeous views, Birch Tree Lodge is a surprisingly spacious safari tent that will appeal to one and all. Side by side with Fir Tree Lodge, its fenced deck looks out over lush countryside towards the Devon coast. Both treetop tents have two bedrooms (a double and a bunk room) plus a double den bed in the living area, as well as a well-equipped kitchen and huge wet-room. Fully wheelchair accessible, it is gated from the rest of the site, where there is so much to do, from craft sessions and bicycle hire to a hydro pool and a licensed bistro, that you are sure to have a great time.

Parking is a short distance (within the Seale-Hayne site) from the Glamping Lodges and you'll transport your luggage by wheelbarrow! You will arrive at the tent's private area at the top of a shared, sloping walkway, and find a large wooden deck with comfy chairs, a single ring gas stove (under canvas cover) and a birch tree encircled by bench seating – making this real treehouse living. At the back of the tent is a picnic table, next to a shared play-area that features a fun pod swing. Your living area has a sofa, dining-table and chairs, and a wood-fired range (with plenty of logs supplied) for both cooking and keeping cosy. The kitchen-area boasts a traditional Belfast sink, a fridge, kettle and power socket, and a lovely wooden cupboard housing all your necessities. At the far end of the tent is a huge wet-room with running hot water and, opposite, a spacious cloakroom with a proper loo and a wash-basin. Hannahs at Seale-Hayne is owned by the Dame Hannah Rogers Trust, a charity devoted to providing cultural, educational and physical support for disabled or disadvantaged children and adults, and it is more than happy to loan any assistance equipment needed during your stay. On this fantastic, 90 acre site there are loads of wonderful walks that you and your dog will love, and if you can tear yourselves away you are only a short drive from Dartmoor and the glorious beaches of the south Devon coast.
