Booking with confidence

Online booking sites – like Booking.com, AirBnB, Trivago – all sound such a great idea in theory, don’t they? Cut out the middle man, bag yourself a bargain – but the trouble is, theory often doesn’t translate into practice and your dream deal ends up being a costly nightmare.

We have all heard the horror stories of people booking with AirBnB only to find when they arrive that the property doesn’t actually exist! Or turning up at a property to find there are 70 steps up to the front door, when one of their party has limited mobility. You also don’t know whether the provider has the appropriate cover – such as insurance or PAT testing – you could find yourself staying somewhere that is actually unsafe. Sadly, it happens.

When you book through an established listings website such as Dartmoor Accommodation, you’ll find that we know what we are talking about. We know that all the properties exist and as we have visited most of them we know what facilities they do, or don’t, offer. We can suggest the best places for families, or keen walkers with dogs or the properties with disabled access.

And, as we also don’t take commission, you are getting the best deal possible. Booking direct with the owners keeps the money in the local economy – a win-win situation.

Our website also has a Food & Drink section, suggesting places to eat so you can conveniently search for a great Devon cream tea, Sunday Roast or pub lunch – whatever you fancy! And if you’d like ideas for things to do and places to visit, we’ve got that covered too. We also offer the extra bonus of discount vouchers for Dartmoor attractions.

Whatever you're looking for – a traditional bed and breakfast, a Dartmoor Inn or a self-catering holiday cottage  – our website is the place to find the best holiday accommodation in the Dartmoor National Park. You can search for child friendly and dog friendly options, properties with swimming pools and those with wifi. You'll find up to date prices and comprehensive reviews. And of course, if you have any questions, just call us and we’ll answer you in person.

Interesting article. I think there are degrees of forbidden fruit that are normally led by circumstance, but your article is more about the chase and not the connection.
