  • Small groups, a relaxed and leisurely walking pace with a guide who has lived and worked in the area for twenty years. Dartmoor Nature Tours offer wildlife walks and tours to suit individual customer requirements.
  • Dartmoor’s Daughter creates walks and nature connection experiences to improve physical health, emotional wellbeing, and mental acuity. We work with a range of different experts to offer guided walks and activities for adults, families, and children that include Navigation training; Nature Trails; Letterboxing; Painting & Sketching; Dowsing for Earth Energies; Wild Foods & Foraging; Mindfulness; Tracking, Astronomy evenings; Flora & Fauna; History & Archaeology; Ceremony and many more. Private guided walks, facilitated outdoor activities, and team days for groups, birthday events are also available. Anyone who joins our walks and events report a greater sense of wellbeing as well enjoyment, fun and learning.
  • An enchanting garden nestled in the beautiful Torridge Valley. Surrounded by woodland, the garden is rich in variety throughout every season and features inspiring planting displays enhanced by the natural beauty of North Devon.
  • Free entry to see lots of interesting crafty pieces of art. They have a cafe on the first floor.

  • An outdoor pursuits centre with many strings to its bow; Camp Mawazo caters for birthday parties, team building, skills training and just plain fun for all ages and abilities.
  • The BIG Sheep is one of Devon's family all weather top attractions who is probably best known for racing sheep! A day out at the attraction will have the whole family experiencing great fun! There's cute and cuddly animals to meet, feed and fall in love with. Hilarious animal shows to entertain the whole family and have you laughing out loud at the showmens witty jokes and antics!
  • Discovery, tranquillity and history – an ancient gem in the Dartmoor landscape. When you visit Buckland, you follow over 700 years of footsteps; from the Cistercians who built the Abbey and farmed the estate, to seafarers Grenville and Drake who changed the shape of the house and the fate of the country.
  • Open this year from 23rd May to early September, this is the largest outdoor, freshwater swimming pool in Devon. The temperature of the water is maintained with solar pool covers. It is just 10 minutes walk from Chagford town centre and a few minutes drive from the A30. There is a small tea hut with snacks and Lifeguards always in attendance. There is a special pool for babies and young children and all children under 9 MUST be accompanied by an adult. Please be sure to check the pool's website for admission fees and opening times.
  • You can easily spend the whole day on the South Devon Railway because they're far more than a train ride! Ride the South Devon Railway and, while you are there, you can visit the Totnes Rare Breeds Farm and Dartmoor Otters & Buckfast Butterflies: 3 Great Attractions, 1 Amazing Day.   • Dartmoor Zoo is the zoo that the Hollywood film starring Matt Damon and Scarlett Johannson is based upon. in 33 acres of beautiful woodland with some stunning views of the surrounding countryside and a fantastic collection of animals, Dartmoor Zoo is a unique family day out in the beautiful South Hams of Devon. Immerse yourself in a fun day out with the kids: see the big cats feed, hear the wolves howl and feel the snakes wriggle through your fingers in Close Encounters. Follow the daily timetable of events including public talks at feeding times and animal encounters, with falconry displays and kids activities during the holidays such as quiz-trails and face-painting. And when you need a rest, visit the Jaguar Restaurant for a freshly prepared lunch or a hot drink and delicious cake made right here on site.

  • A great place for young children with activities such as feeding the animals, pony grooming, collecting the eggs, pony rides, putting the donkeys to bed at the end of the afternoon, and the pets corner is a delight for children of all ages.   • Cholwell Riding Stables at Mary Tavy, situated between Okehampton and Tavistock and with direct access to rides across Dartmoor. Novice and experienced riders taken, qualified tuition, hard hats. Experienced escorts open all year. 1 hour ride £22, 90 minutes ride £31 and a 2 hour ride is £40.
