  • A great place for young children with activities such as feeding the animals, pony grooming, collecting the eggs, pony rides, putting the donkeys to bed at the end of the afternoon, and the pets corner is a delight for children of all ages.   • These workshops offer the beginner and intermediate photographer an opportunity to learn essential skills to improve their landscape photography technique.
  • Torquay’s Dinosaur World, on Torquay’s inner harbour side, is the only exhibition of its kind in the south west. Full of amazing creatures, such as the terrifying T Rex, and the cute Triceratops, with fascinating fossils to discover, fun quizzes and dinosaurs to sit on, our fun interactive indoor exhibition brings the world of dinosaurs to life!
  • Cholwell Riding Stables at Mary Tavy, situated between Okehampton and Tavistock and with direct access to rides across Dartmoor. Novice and experienced riders taken, qualified tuition, hard hats. Experienced escorts open all year. 1 hour ride £22, 90 minutes ride £31 and a 2 hour ride is £40.

  • An enchanting garden nestled in the beautiful Torridge Valley. Surrounded by woodland, the garden is rich in variety throughout every season and features inspiring planting displays enhanced by the natural beauty of North Devon.
  • Powdermills Pottery is housed in granite buildings that were once part of a nineteenth century gunpowder factory. It is found in the very centre of Dartmoor National Park in Devon, and is part of the Duchy of Cornwall estate. Powdermills is the home and workplace of potter, Joss Hibbs. In the Shop, her range of pottery is sold alongside work by other Dartmoor craft-makers. Cream teas are served in the courtyard in the Summer season, and intensive Throwing Courses are run year-round.
  • There is always lots going on at Pennywell. Treat your family to the very best with a full day of hands on animal action at Pennywell Farm. Home of the half hourly activity and with up to 20 hands on activities, shows and displays every day, all included in the admission price, you won’t waste a single minute. There’s something new every half hour – listen for the bell!
  • Near to Tavistock. Award winning museum and visitor centre where friendly staff in costume chat with visitors. Exciting narrow gauge underground railway into the mine. This quayside family attraction runs alongside the very picturesque River Tamar. They have an occasional car show, and folk music event.
  • Moretonhampstead Motor Museum is home to a collection of over 120 vintage and classic vehicles including cars, motorcycles and light commercials from pre-1920s to the 1990s, plus motoring artefacts and automobilia. It is a great all-weather attraction
  • Discovery, tranquillity and history – an ancient gem in the Dartmoor landscape. When you visit Buckland, you follow over 700 years of footsteps; from the Cistercians who built the Abbey and farmed the estate, to seafarers Grenville and Drake who changed the shape of the house and the fate of the country.
  • Open this year from 23rd May to early September, this is the largest outdoor, freshwater swimming pool in Devon. The temperature of the water is maintained with solar pool covers. It is just 10 minutes walk from Chagford town centre and a few minutes drive from the A30. There is a small tea hut with snacks and Lifeguards always in attendance. There is a special pool for babies and young children and all children under 9 MUST be accompanied by an adult. Please be sure to check the pool's website for admission fees and opening times.
  • Cycle Hire is now available at Fox Tor Cafe, only £18.50 per adult per day, with the bonus of being able to get a hot drink (or something stronger) and a meal when you return from your bracing cycle!

  • This is where you will find England's highest waterfall with a huge 220 foot drop. Nature and wildlife trails.   • Enjoy Two 235m Zip Wires with Views over Dartmoor National Park. Go Ape’s first Tree Top Adventure in the South West. One of the best days out in Devon, if you’re looking for adventure activities near Exeter then you’ll enjoy an incredible 235m zip wire flying you from hilltop to hilltop followed by another (…just 15 minutes from Exeter)!
  • World of Country Life is Devon’s GOLD award winning family day out, whatever the weather!
