  • Open this year from 23rd May to early September, this is the largest outdoor, freshwater swimming pool in Devon. The temperature of the water is maintained with solar pool covers. It is just 10 minutes walk from Chagford town centre and a few minutes drive from the A30. There is a small tea hut with snacks and Lifeguards always in attendance. There is a special pool for babies and young children and all children under 9 MUST be accompanied by an adult. Please be sure to check the pool's website for admission fees and opening times.

  • Near to Tavistock. Award winning museum and visitor centre where friendly staff in costume chat with visitors. Exciting narrow gauge underground railway into the mine. This quayside family attraction runs alongside the very picturesque River Tamar. They have an occasional car show, and folk music event.
  • Impressive Dartmoor Waterfall and woodland walks with quiz trail and letterboxing challenge for children.Cafeteria and picnics in the park. Boulders to clamber on. Craft shop and gift shop.   • Dartmoor Zoo is the zoo that the Hollywood film starring Matt Damon and Scarlett Johannson is based upon. in 33 acres of beautiful woodland with some stunning views of the surrounding countryside and a fantastic collection of animals, Dartmoor Zoo is a unique family day out in the beautiful South Hams of Devon. Immerse yourself in a fun day out with the kids: see the big cats feed, hear the wolves howl and feel the snakes wriggle through your fingers in Close Encounters. Follow the daily timetable of events including public talks at feeding times and animal encounters, with falconry displays and kids activities during the holidays such as quiz-trails and face-painting. And when you need a rest, visit the Jaguar Restaurant for a freshly prepared lunch or a hot drink and delicious cake made right here on site.

  • The workshops will be within the Dartmoor National Park in Devon, England, using Acorn Lodge as a base and will be for all levels of photographers who want to learn real wildlife photography. The photography workshop package includes as much as possible to help you learn and improve all the aspects of being a wildlife photographer from using your camera, through the picture taking process, to the end image and post production workflow.
  • The Dartmoor School of Fly Fishing offers guided fly fishing on the Upper Teign and on the East and West Dart Rivers at £90 for a half day and £150 for a full day.
  • A great place for young children with activities such as feeding the animals, pony grooming, collecting the eggs, pony rides, putting the donkeys to bed at the end of the afternoon, and the pets corner is a delight for children of all ages.   • British Native Ponies at Tor Royal Princetown - 8 of our 9 British Native ponies in one place, their history, tradition and future - We may even have a foal or two! Open 10.30 am - 4pm Easter to mid September
  • Experience Dartmoor with a unique tour from the luxury of a 6-seater Land Rover. Tich your local guide will take you to some of the hidden treasures of Dartmoor in the comfort of a deluxe Land Rover.   • The National Trust property Castle Drogo is at Drewsteignton where the Gardens are open all year. Do see the gardens in the Autumn when they are full of rich colour. There is an interesting seed collection day each year, when the Castle gardeners explain how to do just that later on in the year. You need to bring envelopes! Find the date on my what's on page.   • World of Country Life is Devon’s GOLD award winning family day out, whatever the weather! There are over 2 acres indoors with loads to do: crawl through the themed soft play areas, whizz round the mini electric go kart track, get up close to the animals in the nursery and petting centre, climb aboard the good ship Lady Suzannah in the pirate ship play area while mum and dad have a rest in the indoor beach hut, tuck into some tasty home cooked food in the brand new themed restaurant, watch the daily ferret racing show in the Barnyard Theatre, explore the past in the museum of farm machinery, take a trip down memory lane in the Victorian street, cruise around the south west’s largest collection of vintage vehicles in the Hall of Transport (and see vehicles that have appeared on TV in Downton Abbey, Mr Selfridge and Parade’s End) and view the famous Reg Imray motorcycle collection. There’s so much fun, come rain or shine: can you do it all in a day?!

  • Enjoy Two 235m Zip Wires with Views over Dartmoor National Park. Go Ape’s first Tree Top Adventure in the South West. One of the best days out in Devon, if you’re looking for adventure activities near Exeter then you’ll enjoy an incredible 235m zip wire flying you from hilltop to hilltop followed by another (…just 15 minutes from Exeter)!
  • Moretonhampstead Motor Museum is home to a collection of over 120 vintage and classic vehicles including cars, motorcycles and light commercials from pre-1920s to the 1990s, plus motoring artefacts and automobilia. It is a great all-weather attraction
