  • Small groups, a relaxed and leisurely walking pace with a guide who has lived and worked in the area for twenty years. Dartmoor Nature Tours offer wildlife walks and tours to suit individual customer requirements.

  • Discovery, tranquillity and history – an ancient gem in the Dartmoor landscape. When you visit Buckland, you follow over 700 years of footsteps; from the Cistercians who built the Abbey and farmed the estate, to seafarers Grenville and Drake who changed the shape of the house and the fate of the country.
  • Open this year from 23rd May to early September, this is the largest outdoor, freshwater swimming pool in Devon. The temperature of the water is maintained with solar pool covers. It is just 10 minutes walk from Chagford town centre and a few minutes drive from the A30. There is a small tea hut with snacks and Lifeguards always in attendance. There is a special pool for babies and young children and all children under 9 MUST be accompanied by an adult. Please be sure to check the pool's website for admission fees and opening times.
  • Moretonhampstead Motor Museum is home to a collection of over 120 vintage and classic vehicles including cars, motorcycles and light commercials from pre-1920s to the 1990s, plus motoring artefacts and automobilia. It is a great all-weather attraction
  • Ideal day out for the family, whatever the season. If you want to see the very best of Dartmoor, Dartmoor Safari's vehicles are ideally suited to the smaller roads that coaches can't access. Your knowledgeable local guide will show you the sites that inspired Arthur Conan Doyle to write 'The Hound of the Baskervilles' and introduce you to the beautiful Dartmoor ponies. Enjoy true exploration of the wild landscape and historic villages while your driver regales you with stories of witchcraft and mythical creatures. Please wear sensible walking shoes, warm and weatherproof outer clothing and don't forget your camera! Tours start at 09:00 and usually finish around 17:00

  • Dartmoor’s Daughter creates walks and nature connection experiences to improve physical health, emotional wellbeing, and mental acuity. We work with a range of different experts to offer guided walks and activities for adults, families, and children that include Navigation training; Nature Trails; Letterboxing; Painting & Sketching; Dowsing for Earth Energies; Wild Foods & Foraging; Mindfulness; Tracking, Astronomy evenings; Flora & Fauna; History & Archaeology; Ceremony and many more. Private guided walks, facilitated outdoor activities, and team days for groups, birthday events are also available. Anyone who joins our walks and events report a greater sense of wellbeing as well enjoyment, fun and learning.
  • A great place for young children with activities such as feeding the animals, pony grooming, collecting the eggs, pony rides, putting the donkeys to bed at the end of the afternoon, and the pets corner is a delight for children of all ages.   • Cholwell Riding Stables at Mary Tavy, situated between Okehampton and Tavistock and with direct access to rides across Dartmoor. Novice and experienced riders taken, qualified tuition, hard hats. Experienced escorts open all year. 1 hour ride £22, 90 minutes ride £31 and a 2 hour ride is £40.
