Julia and Martin have a quality hideaway here, alongside the main house, but entirely separate, this little cottage is perfect for two. With a king size bed under oak beams and beautiful country garden plus small lake, this has to be one of my top recommendations for a romantic honeymoon on Dartmoor. The pleasant shower room is on the ground floor as the bedroom takes up most of the space up aloft. The kitchen is super too. I love it. Close enough for a steam train ride on the South Devon Railway.

Beautifully furnished with solid oak floors and under floor heating, all rooms have large Vi-Spring beds, soft goosedown duvets and pillows and luxurious soft furnishings. Being located in as remote a place as it is, great emphasis is placed on good food, although the pretentious 'gastro pub' description will not be heard here! The garden at the Nest is a 'must see'.

I especially like the large reception lounge, which is a great place for locals to drop in for a quality coffee. The menu has recently brought up to date and diners can enjoy a local jazz band here some Sunday lunchtimes.
