This traditional stone cottage is next door to the owners’ farmhouse on a non-working farm in a rural setting close to Dartmoor National Park, 7 miles from Okehampton.
Set within a quiet setting surrounded by meadows grazed by the owners’ ponies, this spacious cottage provides a countryside getaway for a family or group of friends who will enjoy horse riding, walking or cycling in this picturesque area in the heart of Devon.
Ancient and remote with glorious views, a comfortable house that sleeps 14 – and toddlers too. It's the sort of place where you long to pull on your boots or jump on a horse and head for the horizon. This historic 400 year old Manor House, forms part of the 6 Manors of Widecombe. This important Manor has been in existence since early medieval times. It is situated half way up the hill in an isolated and quiet position, yet is within easy reach of local amenities. The views across Dartmoor and Widecombe are among the best in Devon. The property is set within its own grounds of about 30 acres and has direct access to the moor, some of which belongs to the property.
I paid a visit to Penny at Brook Farmhouse and absolutely loved it! Ancient thatched farmhouse full of charm. Homemade biscuits to have with your tea. Easy access into Exeter. I thought that it had only one bedroom on offer, but actually there are 3 bedrooms which Penny will only let to one party, so it is most frequently used just as a double. Apart from the huge main bedroom there is a spacious double and a child's bedroom, again with a double bed on offer. They share a bathroom, but it's a great space at the top of your own private, steep, charming staircase plus your own roomy guest lounge.
This charming, semi-detached cottage is situated in a quiet street, half a mile outside Kingsbridge town centre, within the South Hams area of South Devon. The cottage is beautifully presented with light and airy, modern décor, and provides a cosy holiday home for five people.
Water Barn is situated on the edge of Manaton and is an exceptional conversion of an ancient granite barn into a spacious cottage in a beautiful place. Peaceful, sheltered, it is on a lane in an hamlet of old cottages, farmhouses and trees, just 400 yards from Manaton's pub and about half a mile walk through woods from Lustleigh Cleave and the River Bovey.
There are 14 bedrooms at the Cromwell Arms in the heart of Bovey Tracey. One of them is a family room that can sleep up to 6, and the thing that I like is that they offer this room as "ideal for a group of people who are on a budget and don't mind sharing." What a wonderful way of putting it! Many groups of walkers are on a budget, so it's right, this is a good option. Add to that the fact that the pub offers good food, a pub quiz every Tuesday AND THAT there is also a therapy room for aromatherapy massage, reflexology and Reiki natural healing, then this looks just the place for a few nights away doesn't it?
Deep in Lord Roborough's 6000 acre estate you will find Maristow Barton, a large detached Georgian house that sleeps up to 16. The house is hugely comfy with bright modern decor. The house offers 5 doubles and 3 twins all with own private/en-suite bathrooms. The standard of luxury and comfort in the house is exceptional, the atmosphere relaxing and casual, the surrounding tranquil - great for those family get togethers. If you don't fancy making use of the well equipped kitchen professional catering is available.

A mile from South Tawton in heavilly wooded lanes you will find this huge, stunning house converted from handsome barns once serving the farmhouse as a grain store. It is attached to its residential neighbour and farming activities continue to this day. Inside is gorgeous yet practical and very 21st century.
