Waterleat Farm, is situated one and half miles north of Ashburton town and is set in a woodland valley which runs up to the edge of open moorland next to the Ashburn river. It offers comfortable spacious accommodation. Sleeps 2 + Double Sofa Bed + Cot.
Just a short drive off Dartmoor, Lobhill Farmhouse is a charming B&B. We visited in October 2010 and were very impressed with the house and what Jane has done with her home. It has a very fresh Country Living feel with welcoming touches throughout. There is a ground floor double room with it's own access which is ideal for a wheelchair.

Grade II and listed, this 16th century cottage has a panoramic view towards Dartmoor and a superb well kept English cottage garden which is perfect for hide and seek. Inglenook fireplace, 3 bedrooms on the first floor, one double with level access on the ground floor. Boules pitch, summerhouse, BBQ, playroom over the garage. Off road parking for several cars. And with a pinch below 2 acres, this property with marquee can host a wedding reception for the top table and up to 60 guests.
The Coachhouse is set on a lovely farmstead just 2 miles south-west of Lydford. You are invited to go anywhere on the 250 acre working farm and help is always accepted, or alternatively you can enjoy lazing by the outdoor heated swimming pool! If the weather takes a turn for the worse, never fear the Coachhouse has it's own indoor 'endless' pool, sauna and games room. The property has 5 bedrooms (1 ensuite, double, twin, single and children's room with two sets of 3' bunk beds). Tremendous freedom is offered and there are a number of activities for both children and adults. Meals are also available in the owners house that is a B&B.
Rockmead is a large detached Grade II listed house that sleeps up to 10 and is on the Two Moors Way. It is an extremely peaceful base for observing nature (moon and barn owl watching), moorland walks or just getting away from it all.

The Shippen is a semi-detached ‘upside down’ cottage converted from an old milking parlour that sleeps 4, it is one of many beautiful barns and stables which served Grenofen manor house. It has pretty views of well-kept flower-filled grounds and long views to the moor, and its own little secluded garden for sunbathing/snoozing. Lots of footpaths around.
Acorn Lodge is situated on the outskirts of Peter Tavy village near Tavistock in Devon and is within the Dartmoor National Park. It is a Bed and Breakfast with a difference as it is separate accommodation from the main house with it's own front door and has lots of space to relax and super facilities. It sleeps from 1 to 4 guests but is only ever booked to one party of family/friends so that you will always have the lodge completely to yourselves. We accommodate stays from one night to however long you wish to stay and single occupancy is also available. Continental Breakfast is available or a Full Devonshire Breakfast is cooked each morning for guests in the main house Conservatory, if required. Outside, guests have use of an enclosed and secure garden area with a "Beach Hut" Summerhouse, table and chairs. There is secure bicycle storage for guests bringing or hiring bicycles. So, whether you like to walk, cycle, horse ride, play golf, visit historical places and eat fantastic food there is plenty here to make your holiday enjoyable. The coasts of north and south Devon and Cornwall are also within easy reach and you will find a wealth of other activities and interests nearby. Bring your dog(s) and horse(s) and walk/ride across the moor, grazing and loose box available.

Dartmoor House overlooks the village green at Belstone, one of the best unspoilt villages on the Moor. Debra offers up to the minute bedrooms with freshly cooked breakfast using local produce. This is prime walking and cycling country, so there's a lockable bike storage area on offer too. Four bedrooms in total, Two ensuites. One kingsize and one twin room. All with tv, tea tray etc. The local pub is good for food.
When I visited Sparrowhawks and met Alison for the first time I really liked what I saw. Sparrowhawk Backpackers is a well organised hostel in barn and flowery enclosed courtyard at the rear of her house which takes groups, families and singles. With dormitory accommodation plus a double/family bedroom. Bedding is provided. Solar heated showers, bike storage, and BBQ all in.
This whole cottage in the country is available to let, OR you can book just the ground floor. On site are productive glasshouses and stock, sheep, ponies called Juniper and Jester, ducks and hens, ideal for visiting children. With a very strong self sufficiency ethic they sell surplus fruit and vegetables to lucky visitors. I'm going to recommend East Hook Holiday Cottages to you without even seeing them. When Ruth rang me to ask if she could come on board, she sounds so passionate about her farm and the way they run the farm that I just know that holidaymakers will enjoy staying with her. It's a farm with beef cattle, sheep, bike rides straight onto cycleway 27, walks galore, Tarka Trail 1/2 mile, a strong green environmental policy, wildlife on the farm, swifts nesting, spring lambs, 3 letting cottages, panoramic views and reasonable prices. Guests are given a welcome pack with free range eggs, sausages, and in season, their own apple juice.
Hay Tor is a granite built lodge that sleeps 6 located in the grounds of the stunning Bovey Castle estate. The lodge overlooks the Edwardian gardens, lakes and tennis courts. All the hotel facilities are yours to enjoy and these include an indoor heated swimming pool, gym, steam room, sauna, spa and restaurants. Up to date caravans and a beautiful Shepherd's hut if you want to go 'glamping' or as the owner prefers to call it 'comfortable camping'. Some caravans take dogs, some don't. Exercise field for dogs. Reception with free wifi, small array of provisions including fresh milk, papers and the all important ice creams!!

Jacuzzi bath, games room, large comfy sofas, dining area perfect for a family get together. 3 storeys high sitting in 18 acres. What a treat for some lucky guests.
Slap bang in the middle of the Moor you can enjoy putting your feet up in front of the fire in the guest lounge at this great B&B where Lynette and Adam offer 5 cottage style bedrooms, 2 twins and 3 doubles (1 as a family room) all have television, tea trays and wifi. Sensible off road car park and best of all they offer home cooked evening meals, 2 courses at £18.50 and 3 courses for £23. Let Lynette know in advance if you wish to eat in the evening.
Ludgate Cottage is situated at the foot of Haytor. This 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom semi-detached 'upside-down' cottage has great views and moorland walks directly from the door. A great location for walking, cycling and exploring the moor and surrounding areas.
