Let us help you pick a Dartmoor B&B. Many of our B&B's are personally reviewed by Lisa. Lots of lovely photos to help you choose.
Just a short drive off Dartmoor, Lobhill Farmhouse is a charming B&B. We visited in October 2010 and were very impressed with the house and what Jane has done with her home. It has a very fresh Country Living feel with welcoming touches throughout. There is a ground floor double room with it's own access which is ideal for a wheelchair.
I paid a visit to Penny at Brook Farmhouse and absolutely loved it! Ancient thatched farmhouse full of charm. Homemade biscuits to have with your tea. Easy access into Exeter. I thought that it had only one bedroom on offer, but actually there are 3 bedrooms which Penny will only let to one party, so it is most frequently used just as a double. Apart from the huge main bedroom there is a spacious double and a child's bedroom, again with a double bed on offer. They share a bathroom, but it's a great space at the top of your own private, steep, charming staircase plus your own roomy guest lounge.
Acorn Lodge is situated on the outskirts of Peter Tavy village near Tavistock in Devon and is within the Dartmoor National Park. It is a Bed and Breakfast with a difference as it is separate accommodation from the main house with it's own front door and has lots of space to relax and super facilities. It sleeps from 1 to 4 guests but is only ever booked to one party of family/friends so that you will always have the lodge completely to yourselves. We accommodate stays from one night to however long you wish to stay and single occupancy is also available. Continental Breakfast is available or a Full Devonshire Breakfast is cooked each morning for guests in the main house Conservatory, if required. Outside, guests have use of an enclosed and secure garden area with a "Beach Hut" Summerhouse, table and chairs. There is secure bicycle storage for guests bringing or hiring bicycles. So, whether you like to walk, cycle, horse ride, play golf, visit historical places and eat fantastic food there is plenty here to make your holiday enjoyable. The coasts of north and south Devon and Cornwall are also within easy reach and you will find a wealth of other activities and interests nearby. Bring your horse and ride across the moor, grazing available.

Fancy trying your hand at a spot of kayaking or horse riding here on Dartmoor? Then this is the place. I'm amazed that Hannah and Luke can fit B&B into their lives as they are such busy people here at Lowertown Farm where the theme most definitely is conservation and caring for the land, Dartmoor ponies, trees, birds and local the local community. The 3 rooms on offer are a flexible mix, the largest one is a family room with a double bed plus bunks. Add to that a room that can be a double/twin or single AND another double all with good views. Plus a guest sitting room with log burner. Ok, so there are no flat screen TV's in the rooms, but with lots going on outdoors, some great pubs nearby for evening meals and all this fresh air you won't care because in the morning there will be the farm's fresh free range eggs for breakfast. Children are welcome to collect the eggs and feed the chucks.
In a small hamlet away from busy traffic. Trudie has been an excellent landlady for many years. Quality bedrooms. This is a real working farm in the heart of a quiet Dartmoor hamlet where the farming family keep their horses. Free range eggs, local bacon and wonderful home made marmalade on the breakfast table.
Old fashioned courtesy in a quiet country house. Lovely garden especially at rhododendron time. Off road parking, and an easy drive to Tavistock. The Peter Tavy Inn is just up the road for handy evening meals. Dogs by arrangement but not in the house.
The Old Stables is a lovely, spacious, modernised, barn conversion, with a sunny enclosed lawned south facing garden at the front and a hidden west facing enclosed courtyard at the rear. There is parking on the quiet no-through lane, and there are wonderful uninterrupted views across a wooded valley with fields beyond where cows graze for most of the day. Deer can often be seen. The property is on the edge of a lovely village with a recently refurbished pub, about 100 yards away, serving real ales and home cooked food. If you want a place to stay that truly is 'away from it all' with home from home comforts and beautiful views, then the Old Stables is just right for you!
An historic, award-winning Bed and Breakfast centre of Moretonhampstead, tucked well away from the road. Clean, comfortable rooms. Delightful secluded walled garden. Close to all amenities. Children very welcome in the family suite. Hosts Peter and Lorely make everyone feel welcome. Sumptuous breakfast.
Number 5ifty 8ight is a new boutique bed & breakfast situated right in the heart of Tavistock, so is the ideal 'adult-getaway' as it is just 5 minutes walk to the local bars and restaurants in Tavistock. Jan and Mark offer a relaxing, indulgent and sumptuous stay, whether it be for a walking holiday, romantic break, a celebration etc. If you just want to get away from it all and chill out, this is the place for you. With that in mind they have chosen to offer facilities for “grown ups” only and they regret that they are unable to cater for “non adults” or pets.
If you're planning to visit the famous village of Widecombe-in-the-Moor to take a look at the church of St. Pancras which is known locally as the Cathedral of the Moor, or to spend the day at Widecombe Fair, then you might like to know about this wayside B&B in the village which has three rooms on offer. Two of which share a bathroom, and one, a twin/double that sports it's own private shower room. Diana offers a luggage forwarding service and packed lunches for walkers on the nearby Two Moors Way
The Harrabeer Country House is a licensed country house situated halfway down a quiet residential Devon lane within a 10 minute walk of the local shops and pub of Yelverton village. There are 6 comfortable bedrooms all with en suite or private bathroom facilities, an updated bar and good wholesome food with generous helpings. It's more of a small family hotel really. I can recommend it without hesitation.
With views all around, this is a happy family house with pets and a country living lifestyle.... Say hello to 'Egg' the parrot, choose a good book and take a tray of tea into the garden. It's a place to relax. Legendary breakfasts cooked on the Aga. Walks up to Meldon Common with stunning Dartmoor views.
Dartmoor House overlooks the village green at Belstone, one of the best unspoilt villages on the Moor. Debra offers up to the minute bedrooms with freshly cooked breakfast using local produce. This is prime walking and cycling country, so there's a lockable bike storage area on offer too. Four bedrooms in total, Two ensuites. One kingsize and one twin room. All with tv, tea tray etc. The local pub is good for food.
2 miles out of Chagford offering a suite on the ground floor and rooms above. Impressive house. Fresh flowers throughout summer from their own very beautiful gardens where you are invited to relax. Horse riding locally. Helpful owner keen for you to enjoy your stay.
Bed and breakfast in one of Chagford's oldest houses with loads of character. Beams and a real fire in an inglenook fireplace. Very pretty garden with far views to Kestor Rock. Short toddle into town and 4 pubs for good evening meals.
Totally Dartmoor. Small privately run bed and breakfast couldn't be more central on Dartmoor. An excellent choice for walkers. Home made evening meals in the dining room, and I know that the food is good. Dogs are very welcome to stay too. They are used to taking people 'off the road' who want to stay overnight, and then stay on for longer and longer. I'm not at all surprised.
3 miles from Ashburton. A home in the country with far views. Ideal for children as there is plenty of outdoor space for hide and seek, ball games, and running around. Two friendly labradors live here.... your dog is welcome too. Three letting rooms in total, a large en-suite double and 2 more rooms, a double and a twin which share a bathroom, that Iris only lets as 1 or 2 rooms to one single party and at four people in these 2 rooms is only £100 which is very good value indeed. (Only £25 per head)
A very special self-contained, centrally heated one bedroom cottage right in the heart of Chagford. Just off the Square close to great places to eat and shop.
Hannahs at Seale-Hayne boasts an exciting range of accommodation options to suit all budgets, from tent cabin “glamping” units to stylish en-suite rooms, a family apartment and even a hiker’s hostel. Our Seale-Hayne site also makes a beautiful, tranquil and inspiring place to stay, with plenty of things to do in the surrounding area, as well as places to explore.
Short toddle from centre of Moretonhampstead town. Perfect for bookworms as the house is stacked with great books. My idea of comfort. Guaranteed good breakfast as Victoria is a good cook. Victoria offers a single whenever available. This accommodation is not suitable for small children or any size dogs, sorry. Parking is on street or in one of 2 car parks within 3 minute walk.
