In a small hamlet away from busy traffic. Trudie has been an excellent landlady for many years. Quality bedrooms. This is a real working farm in the heart of a quiet Dartmoor hamlet where the farming family keep their horses. Free range eggs, local bacon and wonderful home made marmalade on the breakfast table.
Church Cottage is a 400 year old thatched cottage and is also home to The Walled Garden Tea Room and Bistro. Church Cottage offers two guest rooms both en-suite. During the summer months they do offer an extra double room known as the Vestry which is semi-ensuite. Breakfast is served in their dining room which looks out over the garden and beautiful Teign Valley. "Very special indeed. You will love the warm outdoor pool. Tor Cottage has 5 double/twin suites all to a very high quality. This luxury bed and breakfast has won many awards, and rightly so. It's a grown up treat of a place.
Tor Royal, a listed property with period decor to match. Wonderful setting high on the Moor at Princetown, this is perfect for the riding treks they have on offer from their own stables. Organised treks including visits to local pubs for lunch beginners catered for. 4 double/twin rooms all ensuite, Lilly, Wallace, Sherlock and Tyrwhitt, plus a smaller pretty room out of the main house, overlooking the courtyard and at a reduced price. Evening meals by prior arrangement £20 pp
Old fashioned courtesy in a quiet country house. Lovely garden especially at rhododendron time. Off road parking, and an easy drive to Tavistock. The Peter Tavy Inn is just up the road for handy evening meals. Dogs by arrangement but not in the house.
With stylish interiors, sumptuous bed linen and cosy rooms Hollyberry Barn Bed & Breakfast is a hidden little gem offering luxurious accommodation, all set within one mile from the pretty town of Chagford. Coryton is just a 10 minute drive from the A30 dual carriageway and offers great access to Dartmoor National Park and the surrounding area.
If you're planning to visit the famous village of Widecombe-in-the-Moor to take a look at the church of St. Pancras which is known locally as the Cathedral of the Moor, or to spend the day at Widecombe Fair, then you might like to know about this wayside B&B in the village which has three rooms on offer. Two of which share a bathroom, and one, a twin/double that sports it's own private shower room. Diana offers a luggage forwarding service and packed lunches for walkers on the nearby Two Moors Way
Spreyton is just a five minute drive from the A30 dual carriageway into Cornwall. Jan and Dennis at The Cobbles love to share their wonderful home with guests. One plus factor they have is that the Tom Cobley Inn, famed in the Widecombe Fair song, is just a stone's throw away. 2 doubles, 1 ensuite and 1 with private bathroom, PLUS twin/family room with a private bathroom. Dogs stay free at this very dog-friendly bed and breakfast.
With views all around, this is a happy family house with pets and a country living lifestyle.... Say hello to 'Chicken' the pink cockatoo, choose a good book and take a tray of tea into the garden. It's a place to relax. Legendary breakfasts cooked on the Aga. Walks up to Meldon Common with stunning Dartmoor views.
A very special self-contained, centrally heated one bedroom cottage right in the heart of Chagford. Just off the Square close to great places to eat and shop.
Number 5ifty 8ight is a new boutique bed & breakfast situated right in the heart of Tavistock, so is the ideal 'adult-getaway' as it is just 5 minutes walk to the local bars and restaurants in Tavistock. Jan and Mark offer a relaxing, indulgent and sumptuous stay, whether it be for a walking holiday, romantic break, a celebration etc. If you just want to get away from it all and chill out, this is the place for you. With that in mind they have chosen to offer facilities for “grown ups” only and they regret that they are unable to cater for “non adults” or pets.
If you can visit this country house in Spring when the primroses are out then you will be in for a treat. 2 of the 3 bedrooms are wonderfully large. There is one room that can be taken as double or a twin, and the Garden Suite has access through French Windows into the most stunning garden with your own private seating area. No need to ask if the breakfast is good when you take a look at Maddy's kitchen. She's happy to take families and you won't find a better garden for tennis or hide and seek.
Totally Dartmoor. Small privately run bed and breakfast couldn't be more central on Dartmoor. An excellent choice for walkers. Home made evening meals in the dining room, and I know that the food is good. Dogs are very welcome to stay too. They are used to taking people 'off the road' who want to stay overnight, and then stay on for longer and longer. I'm not at all surprised.
David & John look forward to welcoming you to 'Overcombe House' their award winning guest accommodation that can be your sanctuary in Devon's delightful Dartmoor National Park. Their most popular rooms & their spacious breakfast room have stunning views over Dartmoor towards North Hessary Tor & Leather Tor.
I paid a visit to Penny at Brook Farmhouse and absolutely loved it! Ancient thatched farmhouse full of charm. Homemade biscuits to have with your tea. Easy access into Exeter. I thought that it had only one bedroom on offer, but actually there are 3 bedrooms which Penny will only let to one party, so it is most frequently used just as a double. Apart from the huge main bedroom there is a spacious double and a child's bedroom, again with a double bed on offer. They share a bathroom, but it's a great space at the top of your own private, steep, charming staircase plus your own roomy guest lounge.
An historic, award-winning Bed and Breakfast centre of Moretonhampstead, tucked well away from the road. Clean, comfortable rooms. Delightful secluded walled garden. Close to all amenities. Children very welcome in the family suite. Hosts Peter and Lorely make everyone feel welcome. Sumptuous breakfast.
18 Mill Street is a delightful Victorian home of great character just 50 metres from Chagford's bustling town square, with an array of shops, pubs, cafe's and churches. Chagford, known as 'The jewel of Dartmoor', is a beautiful rural town in Dartmoor's National Park, surrounded by countryside, rivers and moorland with plenty of opportunities for walking and sight seeing. There is a bus service to and from Exeter (20 miles away) where there is also the main line train station and international airport
All very swish... this bed and breakfast is "lush". Between Chagford and Fernworthy Reservoir. Stunning detached chalet in the grounds of the main house with most impressive giant wetroom and sauna. Very fabulous indeed. Superb garden with lake and stream. Quiet, peaceful. Eat outdoors on your own decking. Top notch. I loved it.
Bed and breakfast in one of Chagford's oldest houses with loads of character. Beams and a real fire in an inglenook fireplace. Very pretty garden with far views to Kestor Rock. Short toddle into town and 4 pubs for good evening meals.
