This stunning cottage is presented to a high standard, and has fabulous views of the Devon countryside around the farm, where there are ponies and a well-stocked fishing lake.
This delightful detached split-level barn conversion that can sleep up to 8, + baby/small child, nestles next to the church in Mary Tavy. The tranquil setting is only a few minutes walk from the River Tavy and the breathtaking rugged beauty of Dartmoor, and in the other direction, a good pub with delicious food. There are lovely walks from the cottage, and from the car if you drive over the moors. The accommodation offers a double bedroom, a double/twin (zip-linked), and a twin room, plus double sofabed with everyday-use mattress, and a cot/small bed. There are 2 bathrooms: - The main bathroom with a shower over the bath, and the small bathroom, which has a corner toilet and studio bath, is built into the eaves of the house. Sloping ceilings and dormer windows give a clue to its former use as a row of barns. All bed linen and towels provided free. Oil CH/HW included, and free WiFi. The sunken patio has furniture and BBQ, and there is a second raised patio with table and chairs, as well as a bike storage area. Guests are very welcome to use the owners' garden. We are very dog friendly, and pets are free-of-charge. Enjoy the peace, watching the birds feeding at the bird table in the mornings, and gazing at the stars on a clear night, perhaps while enjoying a glass on wine on the sunken patio. Away from the Barn, there is lots do in this lovely area of Devon, from theme parks to waterfalls, castles to cream teas, ponies to steam railways and boat trips, gardens to zip-wires or canoeing. Route 27 of the Sustrans Coast to Coast cycle route is right outside the gate, and the track leading to the bridge over the river Tavy is also a bridle path. Bikes can be hired locally, and there are riding stables on the edge of the village for novice or experienced riders to enjoy the beautiful scenery from the saddle. There is something for everyone!
